Kinds of chord to listen for

Major and minor is the steadiest. Add 7ths or all kinds once you play those chords: the more kinds it listens for, the more often it can mistake a plain chord for a fancier one.

Getting a good reading

  • Strum and let the chord ring for a second or two.
  • Hold the instrument close to the microphone, in a quiet room.
  • One instrument at a time works best. A band or a loud song confuses it, so for those use a song on Chord Suno.
  • If you play a chord with extra notes, it may name the nearest plain chord.
